Environmental Assessment    

Given the proposed project has a project capacity that is greater than 2 MW, it is subject to an environmental assessment under the Nova Scotia Environmental Assessment Regulations. As such, SWEB Energy is currently conducting desktop and field studies as part of the environmental assessment process with specific attention paid to the following environmental attributes and studies:

  • Terrestrial Vegetation
  • Shadow Flicker
  • Land Use
  • Surface Hydrology
  • Wildlife including Birds and Bats
  • Visual Aesthetics
  • Local Economy
  • Fish and Fish Habitat
  • Species of Conservation Concern
  • Electromagnetic Interference
  • Wetlands
  • Noise
  • Heritage and Archaeological Resources

  

On June 7th, 2023, the Weavers Mountain Wind Energy Project Class I Environmental Assessment was officially registered. All documentation related to the environmental assessment and information regarding the provision of public comments can be found at the following website:
